Over the last three weeks we have installed 13 26 tonne roof modules on our $75 million Simonds Stadium Stage 4, home of the Geelong Cats AFL club.
We:
- Designed the roof for modular prefabrication including structure, roofing, ceiling, services and fittings, with our consultants Populous and Aurecon
- Assembled the modules within the Kardinia Park a short distance from site, and with cooperation the City of Greater Geelong
- Transported the modules a short distance on a rear steer extendable trailer
- Installed modules using a 450 mobile crane, the largest of 4 mobile cranes on site
Since 2005 Kane has designed and constructed two of the three earlier stages at Simonds, also adopting locally prefabricated roof modules, and the 70 m high light towers.
Stage 4 will be ready for the Cats first 2017 home game.
