New vertical school in Prahran on track

5th June, 2018

Premier Daniel Andrews and Minister for Education James Merlino toured our Prahran High School project today to view first hand progress on site.

Designed by Gray Puksand, Prahran High School is one of two vertical schools currently under construction in Melbourne. Prahran comprises five levels – all featuring direct access to outdoor learning terraces. A large central atrium runs north to south through the building, creating a focal meeting point.

The ground floor will contain a library, music and drama facilities, while levels 1, 2 and 3 will house the science, visual arts and food technology spaces along with a gymnasium. There will also be a rooftop garden on level 4, and general classrooms, ICT and break out areas will be incorporated throughout the new building.

Kane Constructions was appointed in 2017 with works to be completed in time for the 2019 school year.
