Kane were engaged by Metro South Health through a lump sum tender process to upgrade the fire detection system within the Logan Hospital facility.
Works included removal of the complete dry fire system including Fire Indicator panel and cabling, and full replacement with new. Throughout works the existing system needed to remain fully operational, with a seamless progressive changeover to the new. For this reason, some areas were undertaken on a 24hour basis to reduce system downtime, and the overall project was broken into 22 small stages.
Other works completed during the project included upgrade of electrical mains cabling and installation of new fibre optic cable pathways.
