Kane was awarded the $1.2M Lump Sum RMIT Gas & Chemical Store Consolidation project in October 2016.
The objective of this project is to consolidate the chemical and gas stores in buildings three, seven and 14 of the city campus.
The main chemical and gas bottle store will be located at building three (level one) and liquid (cryogenic) gas will be stored in building seven (level one).
The existing chemical stores in building 14 (level three) will be upgraded to comply with current standards and BCA.
The chemical stores will be made compliant to AS2243.10 Safety in Laboratories Part 10 Storage of Chemicals.
The minor gas store is a mixed gas store only with storage and reticulated gasses and will be made compliant to AS2243.10 and applicable sections of AS4432.
The cryogenic gas store is a mixed store of Argon and Nitrogen and is compliant to AS 1894 The Storage and Handling of Non-Flammable Cryogenic and Refrigerated Liquids.
This project reached Practical Completion in March 2017.
