Our partnership with Melbourne Indigenous Transition School continues to strengthen. MITS exists to create pathways to greater opportunity for Indigenous students from remote and regional communities in NT and Victoria, so that they may lead lives full of choice and opportunity. Each year MITS delivers a Year 7 program to 22 students after which students can transition to Melbourne partner schools across independent, government and catholic sectors.

Following on from the successful completion of the MITS Girls Boarding House Refurbishment, Kane delivered its interim boarding house at 364 Church Street at cost. The 130-year-old double-storey Victorian terrace was converted into residential accommodation for young indigenous students, which will assist in providing indigenous students with a pathway to a bright future.

A big thank you to our partners – V Constructions, Kennards Hire, IND Window Fabrications, FDS - Fire Detection Specialists, Yarra Carpentry Services, Signal and Hobbs Roofing, Pathway Plumbing, Ascot Bin Hire, Boxshall Electrical, A&A Cabinets, Commercial Fire Group, B&G Mechanical, Hickman Contracting, Qualified Constructions, Build it Brick, AAH Contracting, Ark Coatings, Teaco, V Constructions and ZLH Plastering who worked alongside Kane to deliver MITS.
