In late 2015, Kane Constructions completed a new General Learning Area (GLA) building for Bounty Boulevard State School in North Lakes. The plan involved the construction of an educational facility housing several classrooms, both large and small, to provide for concentrated one-on-one learning for students.
The construction consists of a suspended slab on columns, with access to the building either via a passenger elevator or one of two stairwells.
The building has spacious high level raked ceilings, a louvre system throughout and a combination of face block, face brick and colorbond wall cladding to the external sides.
Underneath the building is a concrete slab which will be utilised as an undercroft play area for students. This area also has the ability to be closed off and transformed into additional classrooms if the school’s future development requires it.
The building is surrounded by concrete pathways, an external covered walkway and landscaped gardens.
