The Ergon Toowoomba Substation consisted of the design and construction of a cast insitu and precast concrete base building to house the equipment for the relocation of the Toowoomba Central Substation. Challenges included an extremely tight construction zone with no laydown or storage areas, poor bearing soil, high water table and short construction programme.
The contract also included an upgrade to the lighting and painting to the ceiling of the QIC Grand Central Shopping Centre car parks.
