This project involved a complete fit out of an existing two level building in Ballarat in regional Victoria to create a medical centre to the established standards of Primary Heath Care.
The fitout provided accommodation for General Practice, Specialists, Radiology, Dental, Physiotherapy, Chemist and other facilities within approximately 1500m2 of floor area. Alteration and additions to the existing building were required including relocation of the lift, new entrance stair and glazed atrium and roof lantern.
Works included new partitions, ceilings, floor finishes, built in joinery and cabinetry, air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation, hydraulic services, lighting and power, fire safety and essential services, communications and data. Partial demolition of the existing building was required to allow for a relocation of the lift, a new entrance stair and a glazed atrium, and roof access. A chemist shop was incorporated on the ground floor, whilst alterations to the basement car park including new automatic doors and remarking was completed along with alterations of existing on street car parking.
The $4 million project was delivered under a Construction Management agreement with works completed in 2006.
Kane Constructions has delivered over ten facilities for Primary Health Care in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
