Kane was awarded the contract following a competitive tender process in early 2012.
Works included full internal demolition of partitions and services over three levels of the building back to bare structure, and a new fit-out incorporating academic offices, meeting rooms, common areas and sessional staff work stations.
Existing asbestos cladding within the building also had to be sealed and encased to ensure flexibility for future alterations and the safety of the occupants.
The challenge was to complete all works within a 90 working day period in order for staff to move in to the building before the start of the next
University semester. Kane delivered on this promise, whilst also ensuring an exceptional standard of quality was achieved.
