Construction of a new $34M environmentally sustainable community facility adjacent to the existing municipal offices.
Kane Constructions was awarded the Lump Sum contract in October 2010 to deliver this exciting new facility for the City of Manningham.
The 12,000m2+ project comprises two levels of basement car park for up to 200 cars with three levels of building housing an art gallery, library, café and various social community services departments.
The project is designed to achieve 5-star Green Star design rating under the Public Building Pilot as well operating to achieve a 5-star NABERS rating for energy and water use.
A trigeneration plant supplies heating, cooling and power to both the new facility and the adjacent existing Civic Offices via a micro-grid.
The project was completed in mid 2012.
