This $9 million redevelopment and expansion of radiotherapy services at the Monash Medical Centre in Moorabin was delivered via a lump sum contract following a select tender process.

The project involved the construction of two additional radiotherapy bunkers provided through the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute, resulting in a total of four bunkers on the campus. Works also included the development of a co-located out-patient service comprising three integrated consulting suites with a total of 18 consulting rooms.

A calming leaf motif was used as a feature internally on feature walls within the bunkers, and externally as an embossed pattern in the concrete precast walls.

Monash Medical Centre Moorabbin is one of Victoria's leading cancer treatment centres offering radiotherapy through the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

The 147 bed hospital also offers elective surgery, short-stay care and dialysis. Home to Victoria’s first Patient Simulation Centre, the hospital plays a major role in the education and training of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, nurses and allied health professionals.

Kane Constructions completed the project in 2006.
