Number 8 is a mixed use development in Springvale, Melbourne comprising 24 apartments, a 540 space seven level carpark and 50 retail tenancies.
Kane Constructions was awarded the $20 million lump sum contract in late 2008 following a competitive tender process. Works commenced on site in late 2009.
The site is located in the heart of the bustling Springvale retail precinct and provides significant challenges in terms of materials handling.
The Kane Project Team redesigned the carpark structure to a post-tensioned solution resulting in significant cost savings for the client and further compressing the already aggressive construction program.
Key elements of the project including the carpark and retail tenancies were completed for the all important pre-Christmas trading period in December 2010.
