Sunshine Coast Airport Terminal Redevelopment

A competitive tender, based on experience in complex aviation projects and a proven locally based team.

The works included the refurbishment of the departure lounge area, refurbishment of the check -in area, amenities in both Departure and Arrivals, upgrade of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic services, construction of new covered walkway linking check-in with the new Departure Lounge entry, new security screening area as well as two new internal and external concessions (retail) and landscaping with the airport remaining fully operational throughout the project. Disruptive parts of the works were programmed for out-of-hours periods to eliminate any inconvenience to the numerous stakeholders and the travelling public.

Additional works were instructed including major structural changes to parts of the terminal including demolition of a significant load-bearing concrete column and re-configuration and installation of alternative steel bracing. The other significant addition was to double the size of external Concession CN 7.
