Kane was awarded the contract for construction of a new Meeting House and Carpark at Augustine Heights for the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints. The Meeting House comprises a 1,200 seat church, together with a chapel, 12  teaching rooms, offices, a commercial kitchen, ceremonial font, recreational spaces (including a basketball court) and auditorium spaces, together with an on grade carpark of approximately 310 carspaces, and overflow carpark made from reinforced turf accommodating an additional 50 carspaces.

The works included significant mechanical, hydraulic and electrical services including an audio loop and audio visual installation. The Meeting House contains high quality finishes featuring natural timber, stonework and an iconic steeple.  This facility’s innovations continue, comprising a bio retention basin with a surface area of 280m2.

Throughout the project, significant earthworks were undertaken across seven acres of exposed sandy clay which caused airborne dust, together with sediment loss and erosion from rain.  Vital Chemical were engaged to stabilise the exposed ground and vehicle access paths.  The product applied reduced dust, sediment loss and erosion, with vehicle access paths requiring less maintenance.

Kane has successfully delivered numerous other facilities across the east coast of Australia for this client, including its Sunshine Coast Headquarters at Forest Glen.
