Lump sum contract to undertake a complete refurbishment of the existing Industry and Development Centre at University of Newcastle.
The objective of the project was the relocation of varying University entities directly associated with community and industry engagement into a facility which is easily accessed and identifiable from the street.
The $4 million project consisted of approximately 2500sqm of administrative space, including divisional fit-outs such as the Confucius Institute and Newcastle Innovation.
External works include landscaping such as the Confucius Courtyard in which a new 4m statue resides as well a new addition to the street front facade of the building. A new University Council Room also formed part of the project, including state of the art audio visual and acoustic fit-out. Delivered by fixed price lump sum after competitive tender.
Works were completed ahead of the academic year 2012.
