Works for this project included the refurbishment of the existing University of Queensland Physiology School lecture theatres and foyer space, mezzanine floor, the refurbishment of new forecourt and feature tiled area and the construction and installation of a new glazed lift shaft and lift. The scope of works also included major upgrades to the mechanical and electrical, including AV, services for the building and lecture theatres.

In addition to this scope was the replacement of the entire existing copper roof structure with a new Lysaght Longline roof sheeting while maintaining the tongue and groove substrate.

Large scaffold structures were erected in each of the three lecture theatres in order to construct the architecturally designed panel ceiling along with recessed lecture theatre lighting and mechanical ventilation. Architectural and construction ingenuity were a feature of this building with striking white alpolic balustrades and architectural features throughout.

The project was completed in the middle of 2011 with an extended programme for the replacement of the existing roof.
