The design and construct of the $20 million Bupa Templestowe Residential Aged Care Home consists of a two storey, three level, basement structure housing a 142 bed care home for the elderly with associated on site kitchen, laundry, hairdressers and car parking for 51 vehicles.
The facility supports and provides Bupa's philosophy to create a residential home away from home, enabling residents' transition into the home to be as seamless as possible.
A prototype room acted as a tester for the final product and gave the opportunity for the client team, which may not necessarily be familiar with construction documentation, the opportunity to provide feedback in a 'real time' environment.
The design and construct contract was completed in December 2014.
