Breaking Ground at Orygen’s National Centre of Excellence

24th October, 2017

On the 13th September, the Hon Martin Foley, Minister for Mental Health officially turned the sod at our Orygen National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health site in Parkville.

The National Centre of Excellence is the world’s leading research and knowledge translation organisation focusing on mental ill-health in young people. Orygen Youth Health provides comprehensive clinical services to young people aged 15–24 in the western and north-western areas of Melbourne.

The new facilities will greatly improve access to services such as acute community based care, psychological treatments, psycho-social programs and peer and family support for up to 5,000 young people each year.

With mental health the number one health issue facing young people, the building will also be home to research to find innovative future treatments and care for young people living with mental illness.

Kane is very excited to be delivering this state-of-the-art purpose built facility for Orygen that will assist in reducing the impact of mental ill-health on young people, their families and society.

The new facility is due to be completed in late 2018.
