Milestone achieved at USYD Grandstand project

10th September, 2014

A significant milestone was achieved this week on our University of Sydney Grandstand project with the development application being lodged with City of Sydney Council.

The project involves the design and construction of a new $12 million Grandstand located at Oval Number Two at the University of Sydney. The Grandstand will also accommodate a 180 seat function space, indoor cricket training facilities, administrative offices, sports storage spaces and a gymnasium.

Kane assembled a design team including BVN architects and Waterman for building services, structure and civil design. The key to success was the development of a design that satisfied the principal's project requirements within a tight budget and was sympathetic to the surrounds.

The project team comprises of Kane Constructions, our consultant team, Sydney University Sports & Fitness (SUSF), APP Corporation and the University’s Design Approval Group.

The project is due for completion in mid-2015.
