2020 Victorian Architecture Awards

The Australian Institute of Architects 2020 Victorian Architecture Awards were held on Friday evening (broadcasted live via YouTube). Five projects delivered by Kane Constructions featured prominently across multiple categories as follows:

Monash University Chancellery by ARM Architecture nominated for Interior Architecture, Educational Architecture, and the Colorbond Award for Steel Architecture.

Penguin Parade Visitor Centre by Terroir nominated for Public Architecture, Interior Architecture, and the Regional Prize.

Cabrini Hospital Gandel Wing by Bates Smart nominated for Public Architecture.

University of Melbourne Old Quad by Lovell Chen nominated for a Sustainable Architecture Award.

Geelong Arts Centre by Hassell, nominated for Public Architecture, Interior Architecture, and the Regional Prize.

Overall, there were 108 shortlisted entries comprising 76 projects across 14 categories.

A hearty congratulations to the following winners:

ARM Architecture for Monash University Chancellery, winner of multiple awards:

  1. The Henry Bastow Award for Educational Architecture
  2. Interior Architecture Award
  3. Colorbond Award for Steel Architecture

Terroir for the Penguin Parade Visitor Centre, winner of multiple awards:

  1. The William Wardell Award for Public Architecture
  2. The Regional Prize

Bates Smart for the Gandel Wing Cabrini Malvern, winner of a Public Architecture Award and Lovell Chen for Old Quad at University of Melbourne which won a sustainable Architecture Award.
