Demolition of the Aikenhead Wing at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne is now in full swing.
Once used as live-in accommodation for the hospital’s trainee nurses, the old 12-storey building on the corner of Victoria Parade and Nicholson Street is currently coming down floor by floor to make way for the new ACMD research facility.
“It’s exciting to see the space being physically transformed and our vision really starting to take shape,” says ACMD CEO, Dr Erol Harvey.
“Construction of the main works is on track to commence in February 2023. We are powering through finalising the early works project which will be completed in early 2023.
