Kane Constructions is excited to announce the recent appointment by Alfred Health to deliver the $90 million Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre under a Design and Construct contract.
Designed by Lyons Architecture, the building will be distinguished by its façade which will bear a resemblance to a skin graft which is commonly used for the treatment of skin cancer. The new six-level purpose-built facility will include day oncology services, research laboratories, consulting suites, procedural spaces, multidisciplinary meeting rooms, a clinical trials centre, offices for staff, clinical imaging, a wellness centre, wellness garden and two levels of basement car parking.
The Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre will be a world-class facility that will ensure that Alfred Health remains at the forefront of the early detection and prevention of skin cancers and research. The building is due for completion by the end of 2023.
“We are thrilled to have been given the opportunity to partner with Alfred Health on a project that will be a world-class melanoma cancer treatment, clinical trials and research centre. We are humbled that we can be part of a project that, when complete, will positively impact the lives of many Australians and help further the national and international cancer research effort.”
