Delivery of a state-of-the-art prayer and wellbeing facility for RMIT

23rd November, 2023

In November 2023, RMIT unveiled the completion of their Multi-Faith & Wellbeing Centre, a transformative project for RMIT delivered by Kane. The building is nestled within RMIT's vibrant Carlton Campus. Designed to align with RMIT's visionary goal of fostering connection between people and technology to enhance community wellbeing, the building represents a harmonious fusion of innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity.

Adjacent to existing student accommodation and bordered by a public laneway, the Centre serves as a beacon of progress and inclusivity. It offers cutting-edge multi-faith facilities, including prayer rooms and versatile multi-purpose spaces, fostering an environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds can come together in unity.

The architectural design elements required meticulous execution delivering a visually stunning and functionally efficient space. From imported ceramic façade panels to angular sunshades and high-specification finishes internally, the Centre exudes sophistication and invites all who enter to experience a harmonious and inviting atmosphere.

The Centre's official inauguration, led by the Hon. Gayle Tierney, Minister for Skills and TAFE and Minister for Regional Development, alongside Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Alec Cameron, marked a significant milestone in RMIT's journey towards creating a campus environment prioritising holistic wellbeing and inclusivity.

For RMIT's students, the Multi-Faith and Wellbeing Centre provides a safe and welcoming space to connect meaningfully with their faith, practice mindfulness, and engage in wellbeing activities, fostering a sense of belonging and community spirit.
