On Sunday, 12 October, the streets of Melbourne came alive for the Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival. Among tens of thousands of participants, forty runners from Kane Constructions and arete Australia combined laced up and took part, pushing their limits, backing each other and making the day one to remember.
Our team tackled varied distances across the full marathon, half marathon and 10 km events, encouraging one another along the three routes, overcoming discomfort and celebrating every milestone. Some hit personal bests while others simply embraced the satisfaction of crossing that finish line.
The full marathon saw some incredible displays of endurance and resilience, with every runner digging deep to reach the finish line.
In the half-marathon, as a team combined, we finished twenty-first out of sixty-six, a brilliant result that reflected consistency, teamwork and sheer effort from everyone involved.
After the race, runners, families and colleagues gathered back at Kane HQ for a well-earned feast. The energy was high, the food plentiful and the atmosphere full of laughter and stories from the day. It was the perfect way to celebrate the achievements and and rest some sore legs.
