Kane Constructions is proud to announce that Construction Manager Will Gullifer has been awarded the 2025 Australian Institute of Building (AIB) National Professional Excellence Award in the Commercial Construction $80M+ category for his leadership of the Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre project.
This national award recognises individual excellence in building and construction, with a strong focus on the role of the person rather than the project alone. Will’s leadership, communication and problem-solving were key to the successful delivery of this complex and highly specialised health facility.
Delivered for Alfred Health, the six-level Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre was officially opened in April 2024 by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Premier Jacinta Allan. The purpose-built facility brings together clinical care, research and wellness support for melanoma patients, all within a striking architectural design. Its façade, inspired by the structure of a skin graft, reflects the building’s unique purpose in advancing skin cancer care.
Will’s collaborative and calm approach helped maintain strong stakeholder relationships across Alfred Health, design consultants, specialist contractors and donors. His work on this project went beyond the build itself, leading Kane’s on-site melanoma awareness program which provided skin checks and sun safety education to the workforce.
Kane congratulates Will and his team on this well-earned recognition and ongoing commitment to delivering excellence across all our projects.
