Yesterday, the Kane Queensland team joined a sold-out field of 40,000 entrants for the 30th anniversary of the Transurban Bridge to Brisbane presented by Brooks, taking on the 5km and 10km courses as part of Queensland’s largest fun run.
This year’s event brought together participants from 21 countries and every Australian state and territory, filling the streets of Brisbane for a milestone celebration of an event that has become part of the city’s sporting calendar.
There is something special about seeing Brisbane from the Gateway Bridge when the road is closed to traffic and thousands of people are moving across it together. For our team, it was an opportunity to experience the city from a completely different perspective, share the challenge with colleagues and be part of an event with a much bigger community impact.
More than $900,000 had been raised for charities through the 2026 event, adding to more than $14 million raised since Bridge to Brisbane began in 1997.
Away from project sites and offices, events like this give our people an opportunity to connect in a different setting while contributing to something that brings the wider community together.
Congratulations to everyone from Kane who took part and crossed the finish line.
