Kane Constructions was engaged under an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase for the Hi-Tech Court Childcare Centre Development.

Kane’s team worked collaboratively alongside BTP Workspaces to value manage the design.

Throughout the ECI phase, Kane implemented a detailed Principal’s Project Register (PPR) from the commencement of the design process to ensure that all design requirements, including those of the incoming tenants, were met. Our team modified the structure to allow ‘top down’ construction of suspended slabs, for a quicker, safer build.

Challenging aspects of the initial phase included the incorporation of incoming tenants requirements and coordination, which was a critical element. Kane’s design management process ensured that all requirements were identified and delivered in the final design, prior to construction commencement.

Kane ensured the accuracy and compliance of project documentation to provide the confidence that we were able to ‘de-risk’ the project for the client.

Following the ECI phase, Kane has undertaken the design and construction of the childcare facility, which includes alterations and additions to the existing building that boast a two-storey, 120-space childcare centre.

Features of the facility are eight indoor learning spaces, eight activity rooms, a reception, foyer, canteen, parent hub, sleep room, amenities, laundry, staff room, administration office as well as programming and resource rooms and a lift.

The basement car parking facility has capacity to hold 24 vehicles, including 14 tandem garages, ten visitor car spaces and one accessible bay. All landscaping to the facility was completed as part of the main works project.
