In 2022, Kane Constructions delivered the Senior Boarding House at 364 Church Street, continuing our strong partnership with the Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS) following the successful completion of the first project at 139 Richmond Terrace.

Delivered under an open-book, “at cost” model, the project transformed a 130-year-old double-storey Victorian terrace into modern and welcoming residential accommodation for young Indigenous students. The refurbishment preserved the building’s heritage character while introducing new finishes, upgraded amenities, and functional communal spaces that reflect MITS’s focus on culture, connection, and community.

Now considered a permanent part of the Richmond Hill boarding campus, the facility provides accommodation for an additional 20 students, enabling MITS to support more alumni as they continue their education in Melbourne and remain part of a connected, culturally grounded community.

Kane acknowledges and thanks our project partners
