Kane Constructions delivered the construction of a new 22,000m² state-of-the-art research and learning centre for Swinburne University, completed in January 2011.
The $76 million fixed price lump sum project comprises two 12-level towers and two four-level buildings clad in white precast panels, forming a landmark development on campus. The Advanced Technology Centre houses the Brain Sciences Institute, the Advanced Molecular and Proteomics Facility, a PC3 laboratory and the Strong Structures Laboratory, the only facility of its kind in Australia.
Designed with significant sustainable initiatives, the building achieved a 5-Star Green Star Education rating from the Green Building Council of Australia and stands as a flagship facility supporting advanced research and innovation.
