Kane Constructions were appointed under a Lump Sum Contract to deliver the $50M Orygen Poplar Road Precinct Redevelopment Project in mid-2017.

Orygen, the National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health, is the world’s leading research and knowledge translation organisation focusing on mental ill-health in young people.

Orygen’s state-of-the-art clinical, education, training and research services facility has been designed to support collaboration and innovation and gives Orygen greater capacity to grow its work.

The project has been staged over two separable portions to minimise impact to the existing operations.

Separable Portion 1 consisted of the demolition of existing portable accommodation and construction of a new four storey facility. Separable Portion 1 was completed in the last quarter of 2018.

Separable Portion 2 works are currently underway with scope consisting of the decant to the existing main building into the new facility, demolition of the administration and clinical buildings, and construction of a new car park and extensive landscaping works.

This project reached Practical Completion in the third quarter of 2019.
