Crowne Plaza Melbourne Refurbishment

In May 2019, Kane Constructions was awarded the Crowne Plaza Melbourne Stage 2 project following the successful completion of Stage 1 in 2018, by Kane’s fit-out and refurbishment division, arete Australia. The extensive refurbishment works was heavily staged to ensure the ongoing operations of the hotel was maintained. The project was handed over in August 2020.

The project focused on significant refurbishment and upgrades to hotel and guest amenities and was delivered across eight separable portions whilst the hotel remained fully operational.

Stage 2 included a new function dining space for 350 people with pre-function lounge areas, two commercial kitchens, a restaurant, a bar and a café.

Additional works included significant refurbishment to the three-level atrium, removal and replacement of four escalators, new collaborative workspaces, 30 additional guest rooms, new port cochere, significant refurbishment to the existing entry with reception, guest gym, refurbished rooftop pool, executive offices, engineering workshops and back of house support areas.
