Kane Constructions has successfully delivered the new Yirrama Primary School in Charlemont, Victoria, for the Victorian School Building Authority. The project provides a modern learning environment designed to support the area’s rapid population growth and ensure local children have access to high-quality education close to home.
Designed by Law Architects and project managed by Videre Group, the school includes two learning neighbourhoods, administration and library facilities, specialist learning spaces and a competition-grade gymnasium. Outdoor areas feature hard courts, play spaces and landscaped grounds to encourage active learning and community connection.
To improve efficiency and value, the Kane team re-sequenced key works, facilitated early installation of relocatable classrooms and introduced several value-for-money initiatives. These included design refinements, alternative materials and construction methods that enhanced quality while achieving cost savings.
The new campus will accommodate up to 525 students from Prep to Year 6 and is set to open its doors at the beginning of the 2026 school year.
Kane would like to thank the Victorian School Building Authority, the consulting team and all subcontractors involved for their partnership in bringing this vital community project to life.
