Cadet Development Day with Making Waves Foundation

21st May, 2026

At Kane Constructions, our Cadet Development Days are held four times a year, bringing our cadets together with leaders from across the business for connection, learning and shared experience outside the day-to-day project environment.

Our most recent Cadet Day was hosted at the Royal Melbourne Yacht Club with the team from Making Waves Foundation, in line with the Foundation’s annual corporate regatta.

The day was originally planned to bring together industry peers, Kane cadets, our leadership team and the Making Waves community for a little healthy competition on the water.

Melbourne’s weather, however, had other plans.

With conditions keeping everyone off the water, the Making Waves team quickly adapted the day into a hands-on indoor program, including knot tying, spinnaker packing, trivia and lunch.

While the format changed, the purpose of the day remained the same: bringing people together, building confidence and creating opportunities for our cadets to connect with each other, a charity partner, industry and with leaders across the business.

A big thank you to Making Waves Foundation for hosting us and adapting the day so seamlessly, and to everyone who joined for what became a memorable and meaningful Q1 Cadet Day.
