Kane completes iconic Twelve Apostles Visitor Precinct

18th October, 2026

Kane Constructions has reached practical completion on the Twelve Apostles Precinct Redevelopment, delivering the new Keerray Woorroong Visitor Centre and surrounding infrastructure at one of Australia's most iconic coastal destinations.

Delivered for the Victorian Government, as part of its partnership with the Australian Government, the $126 million project has created a world-class visitor experience along Victoria's Great Ocean Road.

The centrepiece is the 3,300m² Keerray Woorroong Visitor Centre, featuring a 230-seat café, kiosk, exhibition and gallery spaces, visitor facilities and a rooftop lookout overlooking the Shipwreck Coast.

Designed by Grimshaw in collaboration with WSP & Aspect Studios, the building responds to its coastal setting through a distinctive rammed-earth façade, constructed using approximately 1,500 tonnes of regionally sourced rock. The surrounding precinct includes a Welcome Garden, native landscaping, pedestrian pathways, upgraded road infrastructure and expanded car parking.

Developed and co-designed with the Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation, the precinct celebrates the cultural heritage of the Keerray Woorroong people, incorporating cultural interpretation, artwork and landscape features that connect visitors with Country.

The redevelopment will support sustainable tourism, enhance accessibility and encourage visitors to explore the wider Great Ocean Road region.

Kane acknowledges Development Victoria, the project consultants, subcontractors and everyone involved in delivering this significant regional project.

The Keerray Woorroong Visitor Centre opened to the public on 16 October 2026.
