Kane completes La Trobe University Health Clinic

17th July, 2026

Kane Constructions has completed the new Health Clinic at La Trobe University's Bundoora campus, delivering a purpose-built facility that supports the next generation of allied health professionals while expanding access to community healthcare services.

Delivered within an operational university campus, the four-level, 6,600m² building brings together teaching, consulting and clinical spaces into a single integrated facility designed to support student-led clinical services under the supervision of experienced educators.

The contemporary building features a welcoming reception, flexible teaching environments, specialist treatment and preparation rooms, consulting suites, staff workspaces and supporting amenities. External works included the reconfiguration of on-grade car parking and extensive landscaping, creating a prominent new arrival point at the corner of Science Drive and Ring Road.

Designed with a patient-centred approach, the facility provides a contemporary healthcare environment for members of the community accessing allied health services while giving students valuable hands-on clinical experience across a range of disciplines including psychology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, podiatry, audiology and orthoptics.

The project consolidates two existing clinical facilities into one integrated building, improving operational efficiency and encouraging greater collaboration between students and educators from multiple disciplines.

Working within a live university environment required careful planning and stakeholder coordination to minimise disruption to campus operations throughout construction. Kane successfully delivered the project two months ahead of Practical Completion.

The completion of the Health Clinic provides La Trobe University with a modern, future-focused facility that strengthens health education, supports interdisciplinary learning and expands opportunities for student clinical placements while delivering important healthcare services to the local community.
