A fantastic weekend of determination, personal achievement and team spirit saw 44 employees from Kane Constructions and arete Australia take part in the 2026 Melbourne Marathon Festival.
Taking on the streets of Melbourne, our teams delivered an impressive effort across three distances, with 11 participants completing the full marathon, 23 tackling the half marathon and 10 taking on the 10km event.
Among the standout performances was James Currie, who finished 18th overall in the full marathon, an outstanding achievement and one worth celebrating.
For many, the weekend was the culmination of months of preparation, early mornings and training balanced with work and family commitments. Whether chasing a personal best, taking on a new distance or crossing the finish line at the iconic MCG, every participant had their own achievement to celebrate.
Beyond the personal milestones, our teams also came together to support two important causes, raising a combined $4,657.
Team Kane raised $2,583 for Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS), supporting educational opportunities for Indigenous students, while Team arete raised $2,074 for One in Five, helping fund vital research into mental illness.
The fundraising continues, with donations still welcome:
