Sod Turn marks commencement of New Epping Medical

1st April, 2026

Kane Constructions has marked the commencement of New Epping Medical at the New Epping Health Hub with a groundbreaking ceremony held on 26 March alongside Riverlee, project partners and key stakeholders, signalling the start of construction on the six-storey medical office building at 2 Osburn Place, Epping.

The project is a key component of the broader New Epping Health Hub, a $1 billion, seven-hectare healthcare ecosystem in Melbourne’s north.

The building will feature radiation oncology facilities on the ground floor, including two bunkers, with car parking across Levels 1 and 2 and flexible medical suites on Levels 3 to 5. A direct link bridge at Level 2 will connect the building to Northern Private Hospital, enabling efficient movement for consultants, clinicians and patient transfers, and strengthening integration across the precinct.

Located within the Northern Health Precinct and alongside both Northern Private Hospital and Northern Hospital, the development will contribute to a connected public and private healthcare ecosystem, improving access to specialist services for Melbourne’s rapidly expanding northern corridor.

The project has been designed with flexibility and wellbeing in mind, incorporating adaptable floorplates, natural light and end-of-trip facilities. Sustainability remains a key focus, with the development targeting 5 Star NABERS Energy and forms part of Riverlee’s broader 6 Star Green Star New Epping mixed-use development.

Kane Constructions is delivering the project for Riverlee, in collaboration with Capital Insight Pty Ltd and ClarkeHopkinsClarke.

New Epping Medical forms part of Riverlee’s broader $2 billion New Epping development, which is transforming a former quarry into a major mixed-use masterplan centred on health, wellbeing and innovation.
