Kane Constructions was awarded the $35 million Design and Construct contract to deliver the Baptcare The Orchards Stage 2 Independent Living Accommodation (ILA) and Community Hub and Stage 3 Early Works project in April 2019.
The Stage 2 Works Independent Living Accommodation (ILA) Building is located west of the recently completed Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) and consists of a new five storey building, with car park, wellbeing centre on the lower ground floor, community centre on the upper ground floor, and 33 apartments spread across the three levels above.
The wellbeing centre contains a 16m x 4m pool, associated facilities, and a gym. A lift is located within the entry lobby of the wellbeing centre and connects to the community centre on the ground floor.
The community centre is the focal point for The Orchards community and contains a restaurant, provedore, hairdresser, club lounge and multi-purpose room.
The project scope includes the early works package for Stage 3.
Baptcare The Orchards reached Practical Completion in the second quarter of 2021.
