Kane Constructions has delivered the new Paediatric Emergency Department for Barwon Health, completed within one of Victoria’s busiest hospitals.
Undertaken under a $19 million Lump Sum contract, the works were staged across three phases to ensure hospital operations continued without interruption. More than 60 planned service isolations were successfully coordinated, supported by 3D modelling, off-peak works and precise stakeholder engagement.
The facility now provides 28 treatment spaces, including triage, resuscitation and consultation rooms, acute and short-stay treatment areas, administration zones, support spaces and a new Renal Workshop. A dedicated triage system and waiting area were designed to create a calm, private and reassuring environment for children and their families.
Delivered to the highest standards of durability, performance and clinical functionality, the project is a testament to disciplined planning, innovation and strong collaboration.
The project reach Practical completion in October 2024.
