Kane Constructions was awarded the $20 million Lump Sum contract to deliver the Gordon Institute of TAFE Culinary School in May 2021.
Construction consisted of both new build and refurbishment to a number of internal and external areas across The Gordon TAFE Geelong City Campus.
The project provides hospitality teaching and support spaces including kitchens and store areas, student and staff experience spaces with works also including a café and restaurant, new seminar and meeting spaces, and significant restoration works to a number of heritage-listed buildings.
The Gordon TAFE continued to operate throughout the course of the project, so many of the work areas were within or bordering on live environments.
The project was separated into a number of stages that required careful planning and management by Kane, The Gordon and the consultant team to ensure minimal impact to ongoing operations.
This project reached Practical Completion in mid-2023.
