Kane Constructions has been awarded the $55 million contract to deliver the new Centre for Humanities at Melbourne Grammar School.
This landmark project involves the construction of a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the teaching and learning of Humanities subjects, including Literature, History, Philosophy, English, Politics, Media, and Legal Studies. The Centre aims to foster intellectual curiosity and a passion for lifelong learning among students and staff.
The Centre for Humanities will feature twenty contemporary classrooms, a 220-seat amphitheatre, individual and group study areas, new House and locker facilities for Creese, Deakin, and Witherby Houses, staff offices and amenities, upgraded toilet and change room facilities, and landscaped student recreation spaces. The building will be designed to complement the school's heritage architecture while preserving the Main Oval footprint.
Sustainability is a key focus of the project, with the building targeting five-star and six-star environmental ratings. Environmentally sustainable features will include efficient use of energy, water, and other resources, setting a positive example for current and future generations of students.
Kane Constructions is honoured to partner with Melbourne Grammar School on this transformative project, contributing to the school's legacy of academic excellence and innovation.
