Kane Constructions was engaged by Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) to deliver a new state-of-the-art education facility in Westmead.

At the heart of the redevelopment is a contemporary six-storey learning building designed to support CSPD’s evidence-based approach to learning and teaching focused on how students learn best. The new building includes general learning areas, collaborative breakout spaces, student amenities, storage facilities, a canteen and an expansive rooftop play area, complemented by covered outdoor learning and recreation spaces.

The development brings together students from Mother Teresa Primary School and Sacred Heart Primary School as they amalgamate to form a new school while also providing additional learning spaces for students from Catherine McAuley Westmead. The result is a connected educational hub that enhances learning opportunities across the wider Westmead community.

In addition to the new building, the project included the demolition of existing structures, extensive landscaping works and significant upgrades to campus amenities.

Accessibility, safety and inclusivity were key considerations throughout the design and delivery process.

Designed with flexibility and best practice in mind, the new spaces can adapt to evolving educational needs, including explicit instruction and support a range of learning opportunities, activities and community events for generations to come.
