Kane Constructions NSW was engaged to deliver Stage 2 of the Creative Arts and Learning Centre (The Polding Centre) at Stella Maris College, building on our strong relationship with the College following the successful completion of its science facility.
Designed by JDH Architects, the new building offers a state-of-the-art environment for creative learning. It features a mix of dedicated spaces including five design studios, four visual art studios, four general learning areas, two textile studios, a specialist multimedia studio and a senior art studio. Each space has been carefully designed to support the diverse and growing needs of the College’s arts curriculum.
Working in partnership with Stella Maris College and project managers Mostyn Copper, the project was delivered within a live school setting, requiring detailed planning and coordination to minimise disruption. Despite the challenges, the team delivered the project on time and within budget.
As Sharyn Quirk, Principal of Stella Maris College, shared: “Kane Constructions have genuinely gone above and beyond in their communication and support of the College… Their professionalism, flexibility, and collaborative spirit created a positive environment for all involved. This dedication and high standard have resulted in not just a new building, but an inspiring space which fosters creativity and enriched learning.”
The new Creative Arts Centre reflects the College’s commitment to nurturing creativity and innovation. It provides students with inspiring, purpose-built facilities that will support artistic expression and academic excellence well into the future.
