Kane Constructions was awarded the $57 million Design and Construct contract for the project in October 2021. The project involved the construction of a 14,192m2 multi-storey aged care facility with a one-level basement, lower ground floor, ground floor, and level 1, totalling 141 beds.

The main works project was successfully realised after Kane was engaged through an in-depth ECI process with the Australian Aged Care Group, Tumac Consulting and the Consultant team in 2020. The facility was architecturally designed by Smith + Tracey Architects setting new standards in quality accommodation and services for the ageing population.

The project successfully delivered an impressive brick veneer multi-storey 141-bedroom facility. Each bedroom comes with a private balcony/patio and ensuite. The facility also features bespoke timber look features and privacy aluminium screening, along with external mature landscaping and footpaths.

Additionally, the facility includes 6 nurse stations, 6 serveries, and satellite kitchens, as well as 6 dining areas and lounges. Other amenities comprise a café, commercial kitchen, cinema, library, bar, chapel, private dining space, hairdresser, putting green, port cochere, and a basement car park.

Furthermore, the facility boasts 4 lifts for accessibility and convenience. The design incorporates 3 tiered suspended sprawling garden terraces, offering breathtaking bay and city views. This complex project presented challenges but ultimately resulted in a satisfying and comprehensive build, catering to the diverse needs of residents and enhancing their living experience.

The facility is located at 235 Canadian Bay Road, Mount Eliza, Victoria, offering a premium, hotel-style aged care residence in the local community. The design ensures residents feel comfortable in their community, with easy access for family and friends, welcoming private spaces, and a range of services meeting discerning standards.

The project reached Practical Completion in January 2024, showcasing Kane's dedication to excellence and commitment to delivering high-quality aged care services that surpass expectations.
