Kane Constructions delivered the new Northern Aquatic and Community Hub (NACH) for the City of Greater Geelong under a Lump Sum contract, creating a contemporary aquatic, fitness and community destination for the growing northern suburbs of Geelong.
The project replaced the existing Waterworld facility and Centenary Hall with a purpose-built community hub that brings together aquatic recreation, health, wellbeing and flexible community spaces within a single integrated facility. Designed to meet the needs of a diverse and growing community, the development includes a 25-metre indoor pool, hydrotherapy pool, learn-to-swim pool, water play area and waterslide, alongside a spa, sauna and steam room, gymnasium, program rooms, occasional care facilities, café and more than 1,000 square metres of multi-purpose community space. The project also incorporated expanded car parking, extensive landscaping works and improvements to the adjacent Corio Library.
Achieving a 5 Star Green Star Design & As Built v1.2 certification, the facility demonstrates excellence in sustainable design while delivering an accessible, high-quality destination that supports recreation, health, learning and community connection for the region.
Construction commenced in February 2022, with the project reaching Practical Completion in January 2024.
