Kane Constructions was awarded the Design and Construct contract to deliver the Springwood Shopping Centre Redevelopment.

Stage 1 of the project consisted of a new tenancy reconfiguration within Target, creating a new commercial space for future fitout works.

Stage 2 of the works required high-level coordination and construction of a new 5,000m2 suspended car park requiring bulk earthworks, new retaining walls and temporary structural propping works to allow for the demolition and break in to the existing southern façade. Once the demolition was complete, the new suspended deck and basement car park extension allowed for a new façade upgrade, travellator, lift, and Woolworths extension.

Stage 3 focused on the existing access routes in the centre, a full removal and replacement of the tiling throughout the centre, with works needing to be completed section by section allowing for the removal and replacement to occur overnight to not disrupt centre trading.

The north and main shopfronts were the final stage of the project, a complete extension and refurbishment of shopfronts provides additional tenancies and upgraded entries to the shopping centre.

This project was staged and completed over a combination of day and night shifts to ensure continuity of operations whilst construction works progress.
