2019 Victorian Architecture Awards shortlist

12th April, 2019

Five projects delivered by Kane Constructions have been shortlisted for the 2019 Victorian Architecture Awards.

Amy Muir, Victorian chapter president of the Australian Institute of Architects, said, “At a time where we are acutely aware of the issues that our industry is facing due to increased procurement and economic pressures, the awards provide an opportunity to acknowledge the significant efforts made by architects, clients, consultants and contractors to provide quality built outcomes.”

“The design outcomes achieved via the shortlisted public architecture projects define the important role that the public realm plays in providing exemplar-built outcomes that support our growing communities and provide a legacy for future generations,” Muir said. “With population density rising across our cities, public space becomes an incredibly valuable commodity – not only from an economic perspective, but more importantly for the wellbeing of our communities.”

The winners of the 2019 Victorian Architecture Awards will be announced on 28 June. Winners will then progress to the National Architecture Awards to be announced in November.

We wish our friends at Gray Puksand, Wood Marsh Architecture, NMBW Architecture Studio, Estudio Carme Pinos and Zilka Studio, and Guymer Bailey Architects the best of luck. We certainly enjoyed working with you - and our clients - to construct these amazing buildings.
