Victorian Master Builder of the Year 2019

20th August, 2019

On Friday evening Master Builders Association Victoria hosted the 2019 Excellence in Construction Awards at Crown Palladium.

Before a crowd of over 630 guests, Kane Constructions received top honours taking out both Victorian Master Builder of the Year on the back of the RACV Cape Schanck Resort project and Regional Commercial Builder of the Year (with Joint Venture partner Fairbrother) for the Rivergum Residential Treatment Centre.

Victorian Master Builder of the Year was awarded to Kane on the back of the outstanding delivery of the RACV Cape Schanck Resort project. The new seven level integrated resort replaced the previous facility, bringing together all accommodation and guest amenities into one single building. Construction works were undertaken within a live and operational environment, with guests and visitors using the existing facilities daily.

Joint Managing Director Richard Frisina said “There is no better example of the 'Kane Way' than the Cape Schanck team who delivered the project. The team had to overcome enormous challenges, the manner in which they delivered the project is as impressive as the end result. We thank them for their commitment to the project and to Kane.”

Regional Commercial Builder of the Year was awarded to Kane Fairbrother, for exceptional delivery of the Rivergum Residential Treatment Centre in Ararat. Rivergum is a secure 20-bed facility that provides short-term treatment for offenders on supervision orders. The facility includes 20 cottage-style units, administration buildings, chapel, recreational spaces, landscaping and supporting infrastructure. Both Kane and Fairbrother are extremely proud of what the partnership has delivered for the community.

Kane was also successful in winning the following categories:

  • Excellence in Construction of Commercial Buildings $80m+ for RACV Cape Schanck Resort and;
  • Excellence in Construction of Commercial Buildings $15m-$20m for Thomas Embling Secure Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit

Joint Managing Director Tristan Forster said, “It is a great honour for our teams to be recognised with these awards. It's testament to their dedication and hard work to continually produce outstanding results for our clients. The passion and the professionalism is infectious.”

Kane is extremely proud to have been recognised as Victorian Master Builder of the Year three out of the last four years: 2016, 2017 and 2019.

Congratulations to all nominees and award winners.
