In December 2019, Kane Constructions was awarded the $160 million Design & Construct contract to deliver the University of Melbourne New Student Precinct (NSP) project.
The project will be delivered over nine separable portions, and deliver a new series of student spaces that will include a diversity of social spaces, mixed-use retail, food and beverage outlets and increased contemporary study spaces.
The Project includes six buildings and will deliver 37,050m2 of new or refurbished internal and external building and landscape space.
The NSP will make a significant contribution to the transformation of the on-campus student experience at Parkville by delivering a world-class student hub for the whole campus community.
Kane has a strong history working alongside key consultants delivering NSP, including Lyons, Donald Cant Watts Corke, Architects EAT, NMBW Architecture Studio, Konig Eizenberg, GLAS, Slattery, Irwinconsult, Lucid Consulting Australia, McKenzie Group Consulting, ASPECT Studios, Aurecon, and BG&E.
The NSP team are mobilised on-site, the design management process has launched, and site establishment activities are set to commence.
This project will reach Practical Completion in the second quarter of 2022.
