Kane Constructions completed the refurbishment of Haven House Heathmont, helping revitalise a Lighthouse Foundation home, which has provided safety, stability and a sense of belonging for children and young people experiencing homelessness and trauma for 15 years.
Delivered in partnership with the Property Industry Foundation and Lighthouse Foundation, and project managed by Growthpoint Properties Australia, the refurbishment included upgrades to the home's kitchen, bathrooms, living areas, services, garage and landscaping.
The project demonstrates how the property and construction industry can work together to deliver meaningful social outcomes, using their collective capabilities to support some of the most vulnerable members of the community. Kane extends its appreciation to the many trades and suppliers whose contributions made the refurbishment possible:
AC Interiors | Access Hardware | ALD Group | Anova Electrical | ARK Coatings | BayleyWard | Chadoak Plumbing | DAAC Holdings Pty Ltd | Dulux Group | Floor91 | Habitat Creations | Harvey Norman | Mapei | Milliken (Australia) Pty Ltd | Protecta Group Australia Pty Ltd | Reece Group Ltd | SKIPZ Recycling | Stanmore Ceramics | Stevens Glass Pty Ltd | Ultimate Interior Group Pty Ltd (UIG) | Yarra Carpentry Services
While the physical improvements to the home are important, the lasting value of the project lies in the opportunities it helps create for the young people who will call Haven House Heathmont home.
With the works now complete, Haven House Heathmont is ready to continue its important role in providing a safe place to call home and supporting the next generation of young people.
